- Adam Eaton is turning out to be…well, Adam Eaton. When the best quality about him is that he’s a good hitter, then there may be a problem. He’s 0-0 after six starts? Is that even possible? His ERA is 7.23 in his last four starts. Watching him walk Randy Johnson with the bases loaded last night ON FOUR PITCHES shows me his head is not in the fucking game. It’s completely disgraceful. His first two starts this season he looks decent, and everybody in Philadelphia is ready to give him a pass. Nope, sorry. Eaton is like the chubby girl who decides to ‘start going to the gym’, follows through with it for three weeks, and then breaks down after work one day and has a food orgy at Burger King, twenty dollars and many tears later. UNRELIABLE AND FULL OF SHIT. The Phillies have three options here, and if they want to stay atop the division all year they better get some action plans in place just in case Adam Eaton continues to take the mound and have an abortion every five days.
1. Start scanning the market for trade possibilities for a starter. It’s never too early for that.
2. Get prepared to bring up any one of our AA pitchers for the big time. They couldn’t possibly have an ERA worse than 7.23
3. Pray to God that Kris Benson can be back in a month and contribute more than Eaton. This is the most likely option.
- I’m not concerned about Ryan Howard yet. We have to assume he’s going to turn it around. And I believe he should get the benefit of the doubt here….but not for much longer.

- How many double plays is Pedro Feliz going to hit into? Answer: In 34 games this year, he has hit into EIGHT double plays. Jesus Christ. The guy is just another reincarnation of David Bell and Abraham Nunez. A total rally killer. Everyone says he’s going to hit .270 and hit for 25 home runs….I guess that means he’ll turn it on sooner or later. And I’m not enthralled with his glove at third either. Might be time to start giving Greg Dobbs the start vs. all righties and see what happens. You tell me?
Pedro Feliz: .227, 4 HR, 12 RBIs, 18 hits, 10 runs, .286 OBP, .391 SLG (in 110 at-bats)
Greg Dobbs: .286, 2 HR, 10 RBIs, 12 hits, 6 runs, .340 OBP, .476 SLG (in 42 at-bats)
Feliz has three fielding errors, Dobbs has none. What am I missing?
- All Phillies fans should be going to mlb.com and voting for Pat Burrell to be an All-Star. I think it’s time.
