DON’T BE AFRAID
Of Montreal. Seriously.
Did the Flyers completely blow that game last night? Pretty much. Was Kovalev’s first goal a bad call by the refs? I’m not sure. Was that a penalty on Richards at the end of regualtion? I think so. Should the refs have kept their whistles in their pockets like they do 99% of the time in playoff third periods? Probably.
It’s ok though, because I’m not scared of Montreal. I now know that if the Flyers can steal Game 2, this series is going to be a good one. How can it not? All I hear is how the Flyers were 0-4 against Montreal this season. Yea, well Boston was 0-8 against Montreal and they just went the full seven games in their series. If I’m Montreal right now I’m counting my blessings that Jeff Carter’s stick broke on that face off, and that league officials in Toronto were kind enough to give you a borderline high-sticking goal. If the Flyers can stay out of the penalty box this series, they can beat this team.
Without stating the obvious, I’m starting to get the feeling that this Flyers team is coming together at the right time. The chemistry just seems to be there. I look at the four games they’ve lost so far in the playoffs and I see THREE games in which they led 2-0, and another game in which they were down 2-1 in the third and were playing like dog shit. Their balance and their goaltending is going to keep this team alive.
Oh yea, and Fuck Canada!
