Embracing Mediocrity

i hope you like empty seats, you stupid ass.
“I don’t know that [third base] is going to be addressed,” Pat Gillick said. “We’ll go with [Wes] Helms and [Greg] Dobbs. Because we’re going to concentrate on pitching. If we go in any direction, we’re going to concentrate on pitching.”
you’re joking right? even from the fourth dimension, darren daulton can see that third base was not one of our strong suits in ’07. by letting nunez go, we lose the solid, if not spectacular glove at the hot corner. “stand pat” says he has someone in mind for that role, but why is that a good solution?
why waste three roster spots on average guys? for one, dobbs is probably going to be our fourth outfielder when rowand gets waaaaaaaaaay too much money from someone else. that means you’re going to see a lot of wes and i don’t think anyone wants that outside of Mr. and Mr. Helms
i agree that pitching is the priority for this offseason, but if this is truly a team on the brink of greatness, we can’t just get by on “good enough” anymore. Tell Ruben Amaro to get off his next in line, sense of entitlement, paid my dues, good for nothing, “where are my latin prospects, ese” ass and go find us a third baseman capable of hitting and fielding and not being an asshole if it all possible, while you, pat gillick, can overpay for rag armed relievers and starters who can’t help but throw straight.
